Supply Chain Team- Edmonton

Position Title:  Supply Chain Agent
Department:     Supply Chain
Base:                Edmonton, AB
Reports to:       Warehouse Supervisor, Operations Manager

 Job Description

  • Acceptance of all cargo delivered to BBE warehouse, including use of forklifts and/or pallet jacks to unload freight as required
  • Confirm weight, measurement and piece count for all cargo delivered
  • Mark all cargo with appropriate airline destination tags or other applicable tags and labels
  • Prepare manual waybills as required and submit to office for processing
  • Move accepted cargo to appropriate staging point within warehouse
  • Build up cargo loads, as directed, to match airline and trucking schedules and available cargo capacity
  • Work with transportation companies to coordinate the movement of the prepared shipments
  • Receive inbound cargo from aircraft or trucks and move to appropriate warehouse location to await pick up
  • Prepare shipments for delivery by our contract couriers by taking from shelves and sorting into delivery zones
  • Serve customers picking up cargo from warehouse, ensuring that paperwork matches the cargo released and that all customs clearances are complete if applicable
  • Use the Company LMS system for receipt, tracking and movement of all freight
  • Complete required reports for clients, accounting and all other reporting
  • Do approvals and provide backup for accounting pertaining to the Projects assigned to you
  • Be the main point of contact for the Projects assigned to you and learn all other Projects in the department for back-up purposes
  • Participate in Scope of Work evaluations, conference calls and meetings regarding your Projects or as directed
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and third party transportation services
  • Assist other departments with their warehouse and office duties as required
  • Undertake daily preventative maintenance on equipment and notify Warehouse Supervisor of any maintenance problems with equipment or building
  • Perform ongoing cleanup of warehouse, parking lots, compound and airside area as directed
  • Ensure that the warehouse maintains a secure environment, as required by Edmonton Airport authorities, Canada Customs and Transport Canada
  • Other duties as directed and trained for by Warehouse Supervisor or Management Team




  • Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety
  • Ensure you have a full understanding of Transport Canada  and any other applicable Regulatory Bodies regulations pertaining to your position and abide by them, while maintaining all necessary records and standards to ensure compliance
  • Maintaining a high level of Customer Service and keeping within our Mission Statement
  • Process and resolve issues with your projects as they arise
  • Maintain accurate record keeping as required by various government agencies, clients and Company policies
  • Facilitate the communication of critical information in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all workplace issues, including barriers to high level Customer Service, are brought to the attention of the Management team
  • Perform all other responsibilities as required
  • Other duties as assigned and trained to perform

  • Two or more years customer service experience or supply chain management experience is considered an asset
  • Understanding and background in Customs regulations and Transport Canada cargo regulations is considered an asset
  • Understanding or experience in handling and shipping Dangerous Goods by air and/or road to meet IATA standards would be an asset
  • Understanding and experience in SAP would be an asset
